Nigel of Maple, a cocky forest elf and treasure hunter, has travelled the world searching for gold and jewels. After travelling to the city of Kalva with his latest find, the Statue of Jypta, Nigel plans to sell his treasure and relax for a bit. However, just as he is completing the deal, something swoops into his backpack- a tiny little girl with wings, a forked tail and a serious temper! Nigel is annoyed at this little pest initially, but she soon tells him that she knows the location of the treasures of King Nole. Well, any good treasure hunter knows how valuable these treasures are, and Nigel was never one to turn down an adventure anyway. Nigel sets sail to a tiny island called Mercator to begin his quest, but he cannot shake the feeling that this is all a big mistake...

Key Features

1. The ending in the American version of Landstalker is very slightly different to the Japanese and European versions. Nigel is known as Ryle in Japan and France, and in the German version of the game he was called Niels.
2. The main characters from Landstalker, Nigel and Friday, later showed up in the Sega Dreamcast game Time Stalkers.
